Welcome back!
Today I want to talk to you about a very important topic, namely the choice of the lamp to use with the products used and therefore their compatibility.
Let’s start.
Lamp type
There are two types of lamps, UV and LED.
However, this differentiation is wrong because both produce UV rays which are used to polymerize the product.
A type has bulbs that produce light .

Using these lamps, curing times are longer, from 2 minutes up.
Generally, even in salons, they are out of use, given the slow rate of polymerization.
A very important thing is the good maintenance of the lamp. When you see that the bulbs start to burn out, you need to replace them, to always ensure proper polymerization.
There is another type, the most common recently, that instead of bulbs, has LED diodes that emit uv rays.

These lamps are more versatile because they are more compact and curing times are much shorter.
Generally it starts from 30 seconds up.
Many of these also feature the “soft” function, which is used to polymerize the products more slowly, with a gradual increase in brightness, so that the burning sensation on the nails is not perceived.
Lamp / Product Compatibility
Faced with this choice we can ask ourselves which lamp to choose.
My advice is to buy the lamp of the brand whose products you use.
The products have been created so that they polymerize under certain frequencies of lights, UV rays etc.
The brands make various types of lamps available, in order to meet the needs of the various nail techs, but they work well together with the products.
Taking a practical example, if I use the products of Passione Unghie it would be better to use the lamp they sell and not that of Crystal Nails.
Obviously if you use a different lamp it is not that the product does not dry or become hard.
So why should we stick to this rule?
Correct Curing
It is important to perform a correct polymerization of the product, for various reasons.
First of all, for the right polymerization it is necessary to keep the bulbs / diodes of the lamps in good condition. Then the hand must be inserted well and straight, so that the rays reach the entire surface of the nails. The thumb always goes alone. Finally the curing times must be respected, which are reported on the product’s technical sheet.
If these rules are not respected or if you use good products with a lamp bought for 5 euros at the market, you could run into problems.
It should be noted that the products used on the nails are highly allergenic, so contact with the skin should be avoided. However, allergies can also develop through dust.
If a product is not well polymerized, but it is still rigid enough to be filed, it is much more likely to cause allergies.
I don’t want to scare you, but to make you understand that by respecting these few and simple rules you can avoid creating a problem for yourself or for others.
Of course it is very important to use a dust mask.
This is a speech made for those who want to become a professional person, who cares about their own health but also that of their customers.
Having said that, I hope you enjoyed this article and made you more aware of the importance of having the right lamp for the products.
